The Dunsborough Historical Society hosts a variety of events throughout the year, celebrating the rich history of our region, our magnificent community and the region itself. These include engaging guest speaker events, fascinating historical walks and tours, interactive workshops and special community gatherings such as exhibitions and time capsule ceremonies.
Our events offer a wonderful opportunity to connect with local history, meet like-minded people and be part of preserving Dunsborough’s unique heritage.
We do our best to keep our website up-to-date, but as a volunteer-run organisation there may be occasional delays.

Past Events
Time Capsule
A time capsule from 1993, containing artefacts from over the years was unveiled at the Port of Quindalup. The capsule will be opened in 2045.
We spent the day with community members and historians alike.
We hope future generations will enjoy uncovering our treasures from the past and replace these artefacts with new ones of their time and generation.
Gowns Through History
A fabulous day set amongst a gorgeous garden setting. A huge thank you to Norma Andrews from Harwoods Cottage for hosting the day.
Wedding & evening gowns from the 1930’s through the decades were modelled and celebrated while attendees sipped bubbles in the sunshine and ate homemade sweet treats.
Our most successful fundraiser the society has had. Thank you for all who came along.
Volunteer Week 2025
In May 2025, the dedicated volunteers of the Dunsborough Historical Society took part in the celebrations for National Volunteer Week. Attending local events alongside other community groups, they were recognised for their invaluable contribution to preserving and sharing the rich history of the region.
It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers, celebrate their collective efforts and reflect on the impact of their ongoing work within the community.
